
Silhouette in Glass Mixed Media 24"HX20"WX1/2"D 2019. A Collaborative project that includes several book covers. Several works with the title "Silhouette" were created in collaboration with a poet. This work relates to the National Guards that were requested to bring law and order in Baltimore after the death of Freddie Gray. The works in this Section/Project relates to the History of Rockville,Md, where the artist was ub residence. Research at the Library and the His Montgomery County Historical Society re: African American Community who lived there in the 1800s led to several works of which a few were in collaboration with a Poet. Included is also a series of works relating to Honour Killings ,Domestic Violence etc.

Ann Maria Weems Book with Poem 2017 (Collaborative Project). A series of Book Covers were created at this time. The removal of the Confederate Monuments around the country also resulted in works in collaboration with a poet and glass artist. The Book Cover in this image shows a young girl Ann Maria Weems dressed as a man to escape her captors and went to Canada in the mid 1800s. Dimensions: 12"Hx24"Wx0.5"D

The Shroud (front) 2017 Dimensions: 36"Hx22"Wx8"D Copper wire mesh, thread,copper wire, metal The work relates to the escape of many of the African Americans enslaved during the 1800s in Rockville,MD. This could be a covering ie. Ann Maria Weems who escaped her captors under disguise. Contemporary materials (wire mesh) is used in this work which is folded, pleated to add dimension.

Exclusion 2010 Dimensions: 36"Hx30"Wx3"D Stitch,print,photograph,wood. During the artist's time in the UK several Honour Killings were taken place in E.London. This image is that of a veiled woman. Photography, machine and hand embroidery is employed in this piece.

Slave Girl Textiles,Stitch,Print 15"Hx12"Wx0.1"D 2008 Research at the Museum in London was the subject of this work which is digitally created on the sewing computer/manual sewing machine.
